Level 3 (QCF) Paediatric First Aid (2 Day)

This fully certificated qualification satisfies the guidelines and criteria as laid down by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and OFSTED.

The course will be a mixture of theoretical and practical training and will cover some of the same elements as the one day course, however, the second day will focus heavily on childhood illnesses and conditions. The course will run for a minimum of 12 hours split over two days.

For those who work with children regularly this course will allow you to work confidently and competently knowing that you would be able to react positively to a multitude of different first aid incidents involving children or infants.

The elements covered by the course include:

  • Responsibilities and reporting
  • Fractures
  • Diabetes
  • Assessment of the situation
  • Meningitis
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Resuscitation
  • Choking
  • Eye injuries
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
  • Fainting
  • Foreign Objects
  • Control of bleeding and shock
  • Infantile convulsions
  • Heat and cold
  • Sickle cell anaemia
  • Head injuries
  • Asthma
  • Burns
The learners will be assessed and tested continually throughout by the instructor and on successful completion learners will receive a certificate in Managing Paediatric Illness and Injury.
