This course is HSE approved and provides the learner with all of the information they need to deal with a First Aid incident whether in their workplace, home or just out and about.

The course will give learners the confidence to approach a first aid situation and think clearly and concisely about the steps they need to take in order to encourage a positive outcome for the injured party.

The course is a varied mix of theoretical and practical skills with ongoing assessment and testing throughout by the instructor. The duration of the course is a minimum of 18 hours over 3 days, however, in pre-arranged circumstances it can be delivered over a longer period than 3 days.

The main elements that will be focused on will be:

  • Legalities, responsibilities and reporting
  • Bandaging
  • Chest injuries
  • Assessment of the situation
  • Heart attacks
  • Sprains
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
  • Choking

  • Head injuries
  • Burns
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Shock
  • Asthma
  • Control of bleeding
  • Eye injuries

If you or your organisation would like more specialist training in a particular area then please enquire when booking.

Subject to assessment, all participants will be issued with a First Aid at Work certificate approved by the Health and Safety Executive.
